Unibap and GE Digital collaborate on Smart Factories services

UAB GE LOGOUnibap AB (publ) and GE Digital are strengthening their  relations by collaborating together on  Smart Factories services for Unibap.

Unibap has previously communicated successful integration tests of GE Digital’s Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) Predix® platform to develop Intelligent Vision Systems (IVS) applications in Smart Factories. During fall 2018, Unibap and GE Digital performed detailed studies on the possibilities to add customer value solutions based upon Unibap’s digitalization of automatic quality assurance and intelligent automation through the Predix® framework. The outcomes of the studies indicate significant possibilities to improve smart factories.

GE Digital’s Predix suite offers a wealth of features for the digital transformation of Smart Factories. These features range from Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), reporting, digital twins, process optimization, analytics driven by machine learning, Asset Performance Management, security and more. The Predix framework can support upscaling of Unibap’s services on a global scale with asset and process management.

During 2018 and 2019, Unibap and GE Digital are planning to develop a demonstrator and package offerings together with the Predix® distribution partner Novotek AB (publ) “Novotek”.

    – “Unibap can significantly increase its market presence and ambitions together with GE Digital and Novotek. The collaboration with GE Digital and Novotek will allow us to offer a complete solution context where our digitalization offerings in automatic quality assurance and flexible automation can be deployed in many connected factories and enable on large scale the Smart Factory”, says Fredrik Bruhn, VD på Unibap.

    – We believe that Unibap is a very interesting partner in quality inspection using machine learning and digitalization for any industry. In combination with GE Digital’s Predix MES, Unibap combines both the gathering of quality data and the MES solution used by the plant owner to improve decision making,” says Lennart Christensson, Solutions Director Predix Platforms and Apps,GE Digital.
