New exciting opportunities for cloud computing in space

During the start of ESA’s Phi-Week, ESA’s Director General Josef Aschbacher announced some very interesting news: a new European initiative for bringing the cognitive cloud into space. The call that was announced is driven by the vison of European Space Agency – ESA Agenda 2025 which calls for Europe to step up its role in space and help create new markets for space technology that serve green and digital agendas. Ambitiousness, creativity, and boldness were called for which we naturally applaud since it is right up our alley .

Head of Sales, Space, Unibap

Unibap’s mission on D-Orbit’s WILD RIDE was also mentioned by Mr. Aschbacher in his keynote address, as an example of what ESA wants to accomplish with the initiative.

“SpaceCloud is a great platform supporting the on-going digital commercialization of data generated on-orbit, enabling faster innovation for the creation of successful new products, services, and business model. We look forward to continue offering SpaceCloud to the market together with D-orbit and ESA among others,” says Mathias Persson, who is Unibap’s Head of Sales for Space.
