Visit to the new production facility

This summer Unibap opened a new dedicated production facility in Uppsala, Sweden. Henrik Magnusson is Production Manager at Unibap and will tell us more about the new premises.

-My assignment is to build up the production facility in our new premises, implementing processes and routines, to meet our production goal of 100 flight systems during 2024. The production is running already now, but we will gradually ramp up the capacity. Previously, we assembled units one by one, now we are increasing production to produce our standard products in larger volumes. From October the serial production of iX5 will start. The serial production of iX10 will start at the beginning of next year.

Henrik tells us that the new facility has been used by another Space company up until now, which makes the time to full production shorter.

-We are working to achieve a one-month lead time from contract to customer delivery, with 100% quality. High delivery precision is crucial to our and our customers success.

Henrik Magnusson

Production Manager

The Unibap production team consists of three full-time employees, but more recruitments will come.

A view from the production facility

-By the beginning of next year we should have doubled our team. We will recruit to fill the gap. One of the benefits with the production facility is that more environmental tests can be done inhouse.

-We can do several environmental tests with temperature cycling in vacuum as we have our own TVAC. This means we can do a lot more qualification and acceptance testing in-house. Which also makes it possible to have greater control over the quality of what we deliver with our own staff. I look forward to the process and when the production is in full force, says Henrik Magnusson.
